This is a challenge because many people are looking for instant results. Now, while some folks are seemingly able to jump into a network marketing program and build a sizeable team right away, it’s important for you to understand that some people come into the business with an advantage.

Some folks, such as a minister, salesperson, or a local public official, already have a large network of people who know and like them. If you don’t come into MLM with this advantage, then you need to find a way to generate network marketing leads so that you never run out of people to talk to.

This is a subject that is often glossed over by uplines in this industry. The standard business building advice is to make a list of family and friends. As already stated, some people have great warm market lists, while most simply don’t have it. Generally, a person’s family and friends either aren’t interested in network marketing or don’t see you as a business professional who can teach them success.

Later, we’ll get into how you can come across as a professional MLM expert to your leads, but first, let’s begin learning what you need to do to begin bringing those leads in…

Before you ever think about attempting any of the MLM lead generation techniques and strategies you hear about from others, the best thing you can do is to first begin working on your own personal growth and development.

This will, of course, vary from person to person as each of us comes to network marketing with varying degrees of people skills and self confidence. However, there isn’t one person on this planet who can’t improve in these areas.

Before I give you some specific actions you can take to improve your people skills and self confidence, let’s make sure you don’t gloss over this area as this is how so many frustrated people who opt to start “doing” before they start “thinking” operate.

A wise man once said that 99% of success is how you think about what you’re doing and only 1% about what you physically “do”. Meaning that, until you grasp the power of your thinking and your subconscious mind, your negative thinking patterns will always negate any positive actions you attempt.

Thinking is the direct link to how things will turn out for you in the physical world. If you have feelings of hopelessness, think you’re worthless, or can’t actually see in your mind’s eye a successful network marketing team building underneath you, well, then you won’t see much abundance in regards to your business.

If you go through a quality personal growth journey, however, you’ll find that prosperity and abundance begin to show up in your business. You’ll also discover that once you begin doing the “tricks and techniques” that bring network marketing leads in, you’ll attract the best ones because they’ll sense your confidence and leadership skills you’ve worked hard to develop.

Personal growth and self development are habits. Consistency will come from developing the habit of daily progress. Have patience with yourself as you don’t have to learn it all in one day. Start with just 30 or 60 minutes a day. You’ll be surprised how much you will improve in a month or a year.

Attracting a Flood Of Network Marketing Leads Through Article Marketing

As you’re working on your personal growth skills, let’s get you on the way to bringing all those leads in. Article marketing is a fantastic way to accomplish this because it can be done on a shoestring budget, or even free at first.

While there is more to article marketing than can be explained fully in this small space, here are three outstanding tips for having success with this method:

1) Keyword Research

You don’t just want any network marketing leads…you want targeted leads. Before you can write your first article, you must be sure you’ve researched the right keywords to write about.

Identify Keywords With Acceptable Traffic Numbers: Your success depends on your ability to identify and then use specific keywords that have a good amount of people searching for them each month.

Identify That Competition “Sweet Spot”: If you pick a keyword that has a high monthly search volume along with a massive amount of competition (meaning too many sites have already optimized their articles for that keyword), then your likelihood for ranking high at Google es down.

You must be able to determine that “sweet spot” of high enough search volume/low enough competition.

Identify Relevant Keywords: The above tip focused on finding keywords with the “right” traffic numbers.

In addition, you must be sure that your keywords are relevant to your topic. If you’re looking for network marketing leads, make sure you are focusing on keywords that target people looking specifically to join MLM programs, as opposed to maybe something like real estate, stock investing, etc.

Optimize Your Web Pages: Many folks build their sites and ignore correct “on-page” factors, such as placing your keyword in your:

  • Meta tag Title
  • Meta tag Description
  • Meta tag keyword area
  • Article Headline
  • Body of Article: Not too many times (keyword stuffing), not too few (Google won’t think it’s actually relevant enough)

In addition, you must be sure you learn how to work the “off-page” factors, such as generating backlinks to your article (sprinkle in some .gov and/or .edu links), building your page rank score, allowing time for domain age, link out to some quality sites in your niche, etc.

If this is confusing for you, here is the resource I used to, 1) learn how to properly do keyword research, 2) continue to properly do my keyword research, through its Brainstorm tool. This resource also includes a domain name for a website, all the site building tools you could ever want, a feature that tells you if you have enough keywords in the body of your article, etc.

2) Create a Quality Title For Your Article

Once you’ve finished your keyword research and are ready to write your first article, take the time to come up with a quality title for your article.

Rather than using an ineffective title such as: “Build a Network Marketing Business”…use something exciting like, “How To Generate 50+ Network Marketing Leads Per Day & Create a Consistent 6 Figure Income Through Your Massive MLM Business”.

Focus your attention in on who wants to learn what you’re writing on and exactly what result they are looking for. Now you can focus your title on helping them realize that your article will help them attain exactly what they are looking to accomplish in their business.

3) Build Out An Outline

To truly be effective in your writing, be certain to block out some time to develop an outline. You don’t have to get fancy here. Most article directories, blogs, and sites are looking for an article of between 300-700 words. Once you outline three to five ideas, you’ll have plenty of content for an effective online article.

Here’s a great tip: think about your overall topic and then simply work through the alphabet, listing out an idea that fits in with your topic for each letter.

If you’re writing about how to build a network marketing business, you might brainstorm like this:

* ABC: always be connecting
* Brainstorm your list
* Call your prospects
* Deliver value to your list
* Create Excitement on your team
* Fail forward: learn from and build upon any setbacks

Simply work through the alphabet until you have 3-5 excellent topics to focus your article around (if you can’t think of something for a letter, just skip it and move to the next one). That’s really all you need to create a quality article. Finally, create 2-3 paragraphs around each idea/topic and you’re done!

Once your article has been written, you’ll want to place it on your blog. Then, in order to begin generating traffic, you should begin a backlinking campaign. Through backlinking, you can inform the search engines that your article is relevant to its topic, which will help your article begin to move up in the search engine rankings.

What To Do With Your Network Marketing Leads

Once you begin generating your first network marketing leads, you need to have a system in place to “funnel” your prospects through a followup program that will educate them on why they would want to join you and your network marketing business.

This should include online marketing tools such as a quality lead capture page, email auto-responder, and training webinars.

Once you have your system set up and prospects flowing through it, it’s now time to start contacting your leads.

Contacting Your Network Marketing Leads

Often, when we talk about network marketing leads, we lose sight of the fact that these “leads” are real people. These people have the same basic desires that you have. They want to build up a residual income. They want to connect with a real leader who can help them succeed.

Leadership is one of the most needed qualities in today’s world. Everybody wants to make a million dollars but few are actually dedicated to providing the needed leadership that warrants that income.

This is why personal growth and development is such an important ingredient to overall network marketing success. In addition, if you’ve invested the recommended time in developing your people and leadership skills, now is when it’s going to really shine.

When you begin calling your prospects, you should have a basic script that you follow, especially in the beginning. A script will help you stay on course and keep things sounding professional. It will also ensure that you quickly filter out the people you really WANT to work with from the ones you don’t want to work with.

While you should seek out a quality network marketing script system, here is a quick example of how you want to funnel your calls through a systemized approach:

Quickly introduce yourself and get right to the point of why you’re calling them, “Hi Bill, this is John Smith. I’m touching base with you because you recently requested information from my website on how to best build your network marketing business. Are you still looking to accomplish that?

If your prospect says Yes to this, then you want to continue your conversation, paying attention to how they sound. Do they sound like the type of person you want to work with? Do they sound motivated to change their life? Can you sense enthusiasm from them?

If they don’t sound motivated and excited overall, it’s OK to say goodbye and move on. Once you sense that this is a person you’d like to know more about, then you want to focus on them.

The last thing you want to do at this stage of your communication with your network marketing leads is to go right in to how great your opportunity is. Focus on their needs first and ask excellent questions to gain a better sense of what they are looking to accomplish.

Ask what they do for a living. Ask them if their profession is in danger in the current state of the economy. Ask them how the economic climate has affected their home life. If you find out why your network marketing leads are looking to make money in MLM, you’ll do much better in your recruiting efforts.

Remember that even though you can automate your network marketing lead generation with all the various online systems and tools that this is still a 100% people business. If you don’t focus on people and their needs, you’ll struggle.

On the other hand, if you focus heavily on your people and their wants and desires, you’ll create great wealth for everyone involved. To recap, be sure to focus on these main areas of your business;

  • Your own leadership and people skills
  • Pick one Internet strategy and master it. Today, we focused on article marketing and keyword research
  • Use a quality script when calling and contacting your network marketing leads
  • Put the needs of others in front of your own
  • Enjoy the journey!
