I just got done listening to a fantastic positive audio and wanted to share a key point:

look for the gold

Meaning: don’t be a whiner & complainer.

Rather than do what the avg person does, which is look for and comment on everything that’s wrong with a situation, instead Look for the Gold!

Look for what’s right with any given situation. Look for what you can be grateful and thankful for.

Think about it…do you want better things in your life? Do you want to see improvements in you relationships & business?

Watch the words you use!

Do you walk out on a hot day and complain about how sticky it is? Or, do you say, “I’m so thankful for this warm, beautiful day?”

Are you always saying, “I didn’t like this…I didn’t like that…I don’t like how she says this or that….I wish this person would do it this way instead”

Look for the gold

Start finding what’s right in your life and it’s amazing how you’ll start
seeing more of what’s right in your life.

Focus on the negative and it’s amazing how much more negative stuff shows up in your life.

Look for the gold

I encourage you today to start changing the “story” you tell others. If you’re always telling people about the ding in your car, the pain in your back, the way everyone is always talking about you behind your back, the way the economy has changed your business…

blah, blah, blah, blah, blah

Really, you need to step outside yourself because when you start talking like that, it’s exactly how others hear it:

blah, blah, blah, blah, blah

They don’t want to hear that stuff. Or, they’re feeling great that their life sounds better than yours!

However, if you start talking about all the great and wonderful things
in your life that you’re thankful and grateful for, watch out because you’re going to start having more meaningful relationships and more business.

You’re going to smile more

You’re going to enjoy your life more

You’re going to be a light in the lives of those around you.

No longer will people shy away from you because they’re tired of your complaining and whining and “woe is me” and hearing about how bad crap is.

I know my life began changing for the better when I stopped talking like that and when I removed the folks in my life who did the same.

Watch your words

Change your words

Change your life

I remember it well…as I worked hard a couple years ago to establish myself in the online world of network/Internet marketing/coaching/etc…

…I tried to figure out “who should I be”…

Then it dawned on me…Why not just be “me”!?

Ha ha

And that’s all you need to do as you work toward your business goals.

Just be yourself…there’s only one of you, you know…which makes “being you” quite unique! No one else can duplicate what you do or how you interact with others and that’s what will make you stand out every time.

If you see others that seem to have a lot of charisma or whatever and you
don’t feel you measure up, remember that there is a place for everyone to “win”.

Life is ABUNDANT

There’s plenty for all of us. And, you know what? Some people don’t respond well to leaders who are loud and boisterous, just like some love that type of leader and love to follow that personality.

So, no matter if you’re outgoing & extroverted or more introverted and quiet by nature, the RIGHT people will be attracted to you and will hang on every word if you focus on providing them value.

That’s really all it takes

Just be YOU

And, all your goals will eventually be realized…

Pretty cool, huh?

You don’t have to “re-create” yourself or whatever to win in the game of
Internet or network marketing.

All you have to do is be true to who you are inside, treat folks with respect and dignity, and help them overcome their blocks and fears.

Show them you care…be yourself.

YOU are enough…I promise you that…

What’s the secret to success?

A loaded question there… in my time working in business, the Internet, network marketing, etc, I’ve discovered there are many “secrets” to success.

There are many thought processes and strategies I’ve learned over the years that, when put together, add up to my definition of “success”. However, there’s one aspect to success I see many folks struggle with:

Consistency

My intent today is simply to have you get honest with yourself in terms of consistency.

For example, have you joined an MLM opp and then jumped into another one only days or couple months later? Have you decided to market an affiliate product online and then when you didn’t see a ton of cash within days, you were off to the next one?

I know all about it cause that was me a few years ago. It wasn’t until I decided I was “all in” with my current network marketing organization that I finally built a  true walk-away residual income…

I got massively consistent. I plugged away and avoided all distractions. I dedicated myself to building it right and thinking long-term. I’ve done the same with my online pursuits. I found affiliate products and services that make me feel passionate and I promote them consistently.

What does this all mean for you?

Well, I’m simply encouraging you to do the same. Find the opportunity or product that makes you PASSIONATE. The only way to stay consistent is to be working with something that MOVES you.

Find it, then WORK it

Do the right things long enough consistently and you’ll find your definition of success. Avoid the million of distractions out there that will get you off your game.

Such a simple concept, isn’t it? Well, then, why do so few people practice consistency then?

Ahh, that’s another secret for another day!

The reason some folks are leery of MLM is that most folks do struggle to ever make a few hundred bucks out of deal.

That’s the honest truth. However, if you’re considering a network marketing opportunity for yourself, do you have to end up in the “failure” boat?

No, but in order to avoid it, there are some things you should know about network marketing.

What is Network Marketing, Pitfall #1: Have you been an employee your entire working life? Huh? What’s that mean? Well, as you’re asking what is network marketing and planning to “get in”, you’ve got a nasty enemy lurking just around the corner. You have that part of you that sees all the “bad” in everything, the doubter, the complainer, the pessimist, etc ready to tell you need to quit MLM at the first sign of “trouble”.

“This sucks”
“I spent all that time with that guy and now he quits?”
“I’m not getting paid for the hours I’m putting in”
“My spouse is upset with me for doing this”
“My friends think I’m nuts…maybe I am”
“20 people in a row told me they don’t want to join”
“Workin’ at my job sure is easier than this headache”

Once you let that crap into your mind, you’re gone, buddy. Oh, you might still stick around, but mentally, you’re GONE!

The antidote? Books, audios and major functions. Every quality MLM company has books and audios it recommends you as part of their “system”. You MUST read and listen to POSITIVE stuff EVERY DAY. If you aren’t willing to do this, you aren’t ready to be in business for yourself, plain and simple.

However, if you fill your mind with positive info, it’s AMAZING how your mindset shifts and you’re able to overcome odds like you never thought you were capable of.

Lastly, make sure you go to your company’s major functions (usually held quarterly) because there’s nothing like getting around positive, forward thinking people for a full weekend of masterminding about how great network marketing and freedom is!

What is Network Marketing? Pitfall #3: Unrealistic Time Frame Expectation

I see so many people joining a MLM opportunity and expecting to “get rich” in 3 weeks.

Are you freakin’ kidding me? What is network marketing, indeed…Let’s hit up on some reality here…

How long did elementary school take you to finish? How about high school? College?

It take years to build a successful business in any niche and deciding to build a network marketing organization means you’re deciding to build a BUSINESS. Understand that going in and you’ll be able to weather the tough times and get to the awesome passive income stream times.

Any quality business takes 2-5 years to become successful and profitable. So, think 2-5 years going in. Work it for that time period consistently and you’ll have success.

But, it’s a business where you can use the power of leverage to build time freedom into your life eventually.

First of all, you’ve got what we call OFFLINE training and education. This means you don’t need to know anything at all about the Internet: how to Tweet, how to post the “magic” Facebook post, how to “blog”, how to set up capture pages, how to do PPC, how to operate an autoresponder (a what?!), how to create Youtube videos, etc.

Instead, you’re taught the “old school” approach:

1. Get a Prospect: write a list of the top 100-500 people you know
2. Share the Plan: introduce them to your products/opportunity
3. Get them to a local opportunity meeting or 3 way call with your sponsor
4. Answer questions, overcome objections and close into your business

I used the term “old school” above. You may think that because you’re reading my words online on my blog that I’m going to tell you to avoid “old school” methods at all costs.

Wrong! I’m going to tell you that even in the 21st Century, these techniques and strategies flat out work. This is a relationship business. You must build relationships with people as you work to bring leaders into your organization.

This is the best and easiest way to get your MLM building off to a fast start. Have I recruited folks into my primary opportunity this way. You bet! Do I teach my new people to run with this “method”? You bet!

Ah, yes…what everyone’s talking about these days: using the Internet to “supercharge” your recruiting efforts.

Does it work? Hell yeah it works!

Is it perfect? Hell, no!

What do I mean by that? First of all, there’s a learning curve to using online methods to build an MLM downline organization. There are specific strategies that work better than others. There are specific steps to take. You need to know this information and the sooner you learn it, the better off, happier and wealthier you’ll become.

I’d been online marketing various websites, products and services for 5 years before I started using the Internet to recruit folks into my network marketing opportunity. And, I STILL made a ton of mistakes, had to test different offers, blow through cash trying different techniques, etc.

So, if you’re completely new to using the Internet for network marketing, I highly encourage you to listen to someone who has actually used it to recruit people into a real MLM opportunity. I’ll say it again: be careful of listening to online marketers who have NEVER built an MLM downline in a real MLM company!

As I’ve explained, there is specific network marketing training that works and there is specific training that doesn’t work well.

The biggest warning I’ll give you is to watch out for network marketing training that leads you into Information Overload, gets you off on tangents that have nothing to do with recruiting people into a network marketing opportunity and ends up burning you out and feeling as though you were taken advantage of by slick marketing experts.

The best place to end up with this result is to play around on the Internet, trying to find out how to build your MLM opportunity “fast, easy and with no work”.
